One of our younger customers with Anklylosing Spondylitis (AS) shares her experience with smartCRUTCH.
"I am a seventeen year old girl in Helpmekaar Kollege. I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) when I was eight years old and this affects the joints in my back and feet. Because of this I have to use crutches for long periods of time. The problem with this is that my usual crutches hurt my hands and arms and after a while I can no longer walk with the crutches and this prevents me from going to school (which is quite a big problem in matric). Since I started using the Smartcrutches, however, my hands haven’t started hurting and I can move around for much longer and much more comfortably. These crutches also look very cool and you get a range of different colours. Mine is pink, my favourite colour, and I absolutely love them! Walking with crutches is no longer a problem for me and I can look good doing it!"
